What is the difference between a Unitized and a Stick glass facade system?

A Stick system is built entirely on-site piece by piece, where aluminum mullions and transoms are installed first before the glass panels are inserted. It is highly flexible for complex geometries. A Unitized system consists of large, pre-assembled, glazed modular panels fabricated entirely in our factory and hoisted directly onto the building structure on-site. Unitized systems are ideal for high-rise buildings because they significantly accelerate construction timelines.

How safe are structural glass facades during storms or seismic activities?

Safety is our core engineering parameter. Fabricasto facade systems are structurally calculated using advanced engineering software to meet or exceed regional wind-load and seismic activity requirements. We exclusively utilize high-strength toughened and laminated safety glass combinations. In the highly improbable event of impact damage, the laminated inner core prevents the glass from breaking apart or falling outward.

Will a large glass facade lead to high indoor cooling or heating costs?

Not with our systems. We utilize deep thermal break isolators within the aluminum framing to interrupt thermal bridging. This is paired with high-performance Double or Triple Insulated Glass Units (IGU) featuring Low-E (low-emissivity) coatings. This composition reflects solar infrared heat back out during scorching summers and retains internal HVAC cooling, keeping your energy bills exceptionally efficient.

How is rainwater leakage prevented over massive heights?

Our facade structures rely on the advanced principle of pressure equalization. Any rainwater hitting the facade is driven away by continuous, external EPDM drainage barriers. Furthermore, internal, concealed weeping channels are built inside the aluminum frames to collect and safely guide out any micro-condensation or moisture, guaranteeing zero interior seepage.

What type of maintenance and cleaning do glass facades require?

Because the aluminum profiles feature high-grade, corrosion-resistant architectural powder coatings, the frame maintenance is remarkably low. For the glass, buildings typically utilize building maintenance units (BMUs) or cradle suspension systems for routine external cleaning. We also offer specialized self-cleaning (hydrophobic) glass surface treatments that break down organic dirt via sunlight and wash it away with standard rain showers.
