Solar Facade

The Future of Sustainable Architecture

Why choose between aesthetic brilliance and energy efficiency when you can have both? At Fabricasto, we are redefining modern architecture with our next-generation Solar Facades (Building-Integrated Photovoltaics / BIPV).

Transform your building’s exterior from a passive shield against the elements into an active, self-sustaining power plant. Our solar facades seamlessly blend into the building envelope, offering sleek aesthetics while drastically reducing your carbon footprint.

Investing in a Fabricasto Solar Facade is an investment in sustainable luxury, reduced operational costs, and long-term asset appreciation. Let’s collaborate to build a cleaner, brighter tomorrow.

Asked
Questions.

What is a Solar Facade (BIPV), and how does it work?

A Solar Facade, or Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV), consists of solar cells built directly into the structural building materials—such as the glass or cladding panels of a curtain wall. Instead of mounting traditional solar panels on top of an existing roof, the facade itself acts as the solar harvester, capturing sunlight vertically and converting it into electricity for the building.

Does a solar facade look like standard blue/black rooftop solar panels?

Not at all. Fabricasto's BIPV solutions are specifically designed for architectural elegance. The solar cells can be customized to be virtually invisible behind tinted, textured, or colored glass. We offer a wide range of aesthetic variations, including opaque cladding panels for solid walls and semi-transparent glass modules for vision windows or atriums.

How efficient are solar facades compared to traditional rooftop solar?

While traditional rooftop panels benefit from a more direct horizontal angle to the sun, solar facades excel at capturing low-angle sunlight during early morning, late afternoon, and winter seasons. Furthermore, because a building's vertical surface area is often vastly larger than its rooftop footprint, a solar facade can ultimately generate a substantially higher total volume of energy for skyscrapers.

Can BIPV systems withstand extreme weather and wind pressure?

Yes, safety and structural integrity are central to our designs. Fabricasto solar facades use heavy-duty, reinforced aluminum frame frameworks combined with high-impact tempered or laminated safety glass. They are rigorously engineered and tested to meet or exceed global standards for wind-load resistance, structural dead-loads, and strict fire safety regulations.

What happens to the power generated by the solar facade?

The clean DC electricity generated by the facade passes through heavy-duty commercial inverters to be converted into AC power. This electricity can then be used directly to power the building's operations (lighting, HVAC, elevators), stored in on-site commercial battery units, or fed back into the local utility grid for net-metering credits.
